I have good news about user’s profiles on which I’m working on at the moment. I managed to get some useful info about how much a developer is committed in communicating with others. Thanks to tuukkah’s sioclog I can retrieve, given a nickname (used on IRC channels), the total number of messages sent by an user and on which channels. Also channels are described as linked data, even if it’s not yet possible to identify their dc:subject and then eventually retrieve the total number of messages sent only about computer science topics. However this would be an easy realizable future directions from which Hackystat LiSeD will take advantage as it will be released.
For now having the total numbers of posts and the frequented channels could be enough
All this has been possible thanks to tuukkah who I’ve fortunately met on the #sioc IRC channel and who has been very kind to offer his help for my project’s needings: thanks a lot tuukkah! ^__^ This is an example of the user’s data that he’s providing: http://irc.sioc-project.org/users/tuukkah#user (if you access it with a linked data viewer such as the OpenLink data Explorer mozilla’s add-on, you can view the RDF data source).
Tomorrow I’m going to retrieve also foaf profiles using Sindice.
